South Korean handset maker, LG has announced to launch the successor of last year’s LG V10 in September this year. The phone will be launched as LG V20 and will have the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
Earlier too there were reports about the LG V20 launching in September during IFA 2016 event that is to be held in Berlin during September 2-7. However, this is the first time that LG has officially acknowledged the reports.
The upcoming V20 is said to compete with the likes of iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy Note7 flagship smartphones. So we would expect this smartphone to have high end features. However, not much information is available as of now about LG V20’s specifications.
Sadly, last year’s LG V10 is yet to be released in India though some imported models are being offered through Amazon and eBay. The LG V10 has a 5.7 inch primary display that has Quad HD resolution. Just above it lies a secondary 2.1-inch screen which you can choose to keep “always on” to show weather, time date and battery status and it won’t impact the battery life. The other highlight of LG V10 is its dual selfie cameras. It has two 5-megapixel front-facing cameras with separate lenses that allows capturing standard 80 degree selfies or wide-angle selfies of 120 degrees. The LG V10 features a body with 316L stainless steel frame and its display is covered by dual-layer Gorilla Glass 4. The removable back cover of the device is made of silicon-like material dubbed Dura Skin. Like allLG high end phones these days, the V10 also has its home button in its rear panel. The home key also doubles up as the fingerprint sensor which will let you wake and unlock the device with a single tap.
It is powered by a 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor and Adreno 418 GPU. LG V10 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating sytem and has LG UX interface. It comes with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and 64 GB in-built storage which can be expanded upto 2TB using microsd card. It packs a 3000 mAh removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 that can charge the phone up to 50% in just 40 minutes. On the connectivity front, the LG V10 offers 4G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, micro USB port, Bluetooth and NFC.
