A day after announcing its Nexus 5X, LG today announced a new smartphone called as V10. The highlight of the LG V10 is that it comes with two touchscreens as well as two front cameras. a second screen above the primary 5.7-inch QHD display and dual front-facing cameras.
The LG V10 has a 5.7 inch primary display that has Quad HD resolution. Just above it lies a secondary 2.1-inch screen which you can choose to keep “always on” to show weather, time date and battery status “without impacting battery life”, according to LG. You can also keep App shortcuts in this secondary screen. So users can access applications without having to go through the main menu. When the main screen is on, the second screen can be used to for quick-launching apps, accessing favorite contacts, and can discreetly notify users about calls and texts when you’re watching a video or playing a game.
The other highlight of LG V10 is its dual selfie cameras. It has two 5-megapixel front-facing cameras with separate lenses that allows capturing standard 80 degree selfies or wide-angle selfies of 120 degrees. In its rear panel lies a 16-megapixel camera with LED flash, OIS 2.0, Laser auto focus and F1.8 aperture.
The LG V10 features a body with 316L stainless steel frame and its display is covered by dual-layer Gorilla Glass 4. The removable back cover of the device is made of silicon-like material dubbed Dura Skin. Like all LG high end phones these days, the V10 also has its home button in its rear panel. The home key also doubles up as the fingerprint sensor which will let you wake and unlock the device with a single tap.
It is powered by a 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Processor and Adreno 418 GPU. LG V10 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating sytem and has LG UX interface. It comes with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and 64 GB in-built storage which can be expanded upto 2TB using microSD card. It packs a 3000mAh removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 that can charge the phone up to 50% in just 40 minutes. The phone measures 159.6 x 79.3 x 8.6 mm and weighs 192 grams.
On the connectivity front, the LG V10 offers 2G/3G/4G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, Micro USB port, Bluetooth and NFC.The phone will come in only 64 storage variant.
LG has not yet revealed the price of LGV10 yet but said it will launch the phone in Korea first and later in the US, China, and a few other countries. The LG V10 comes in Space Black, White, Modern Beige, Ocean Blue and Opal Blue colours.
