LG is expected to unveil a host of new smartphones during the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in January 2017. The Korean giant is rumoured to introduce four new smartphones in the K-series, two in its X-series and a third-generation of its stylus smartphone during the CES event.
According Venture Beats, the company will be launching the K3, K4, K8 and K10 in its K-series which was first unveiled at this year’s CES show. In addition to this, it will also unveil a new rugged device, the LG X Calibur, while the X Power 2 will be launched during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in late-February. Apart from this, the company is also expected to introduce Stylus 3, also known as Stylo 3 plus, phablet during the tech show.
The LG K3 2017, successor of the original K3, is rumoured to sport a 4.7-inch display coupled with a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel selfie shooter, and a 2,100 mAh battery. The 2017 variant of K4 will feature a 4.7-inch screen, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front shooter, and a 2,500mAh battery. The K8 2017, on the other hand, will boast a 13-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel secondary camera, and a 2,500 mAh battery. And lastly, the K10 2017 (successor of K10) will come with some major design overhaul and is rumoured to sport a 5.3-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass on front and back, which means that a metal unibody is evident as opposed to the plastic body used in the original K10. Further, the device will sport a 5-megapixel selfie shooter, a fingerprint sensor, and rear-mounted buttons.
The company will be also launching a new rugged device, dubbed as the LG X calibur. The device will come with IP68 water and dust resistance, military-grade durability, and a 4,100mAh battery. On the other hand, the second X-Series phone, the X Power 2, is reported to be unveiled during MWC 2017 instead and will come with a 5.5-inch HD display, 13MP rear camera and 5MP Wide-Angle front-facing camera, and will be powered by a 4500mAh battery.
Finally, the LG Stylus 3 will feature a 5.7-inch display which will be accompanied with a digital pen. The device will sport a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel selfie shooter, LED flash for both front and rear cameras. The device will be backed by a 32GB of internal memory, a fingerprint sensor, rear-mounted keys, and a 3,200mAh battery for the juice.
The report further highlights that the 2017 K-series will start shipping in mid-January, followed by the Stylus 3 in mid-February, X calibur in March, and the X power 2 by the end of April. Though the report didn’t reveal the price of any of these devices, however, these devices are expected to lie somewhere between budget to mid-range smartphones category.
