LG Signature Edition 2018 luxury smartphone hasbeen launched in Korea as a successor to last year’s 6-inch Signature Edition. The latest device in the company’s Signature series is based on the LG V35 flagship which is covered in Zirconium Ceramic, which is resistant to scratches and is used when designing luxury watches. It comes in white and black colours for an asking price of 1,999,800 won (approx. Rs 1,23,000) and will be available from July 30 in Korea.
Taking huge inspiration from the latest LG V35 ThinQ smartphone, the Signature Edition hasa 6-inch QHD+ OLED display( resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels) and an 18:9 aspect ratio which supports HDR 10 and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There’s a familiar Snapdragon 845 Chipset on the inside with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB RAM, but the storage capacity finds itself bumped up to 265GB with expandability to up to 2TB.
Running the latest Android 8.0 Oreo interface, the device has dual rear cameras on its rear panel consisting of a primary 16MP (f/1.6 aperture), 71-degree wide-angle lens as well as secondary 16MP (f/1.9 aperture) super-wide angle 107-degree lens. On the front, there’s an 8-megapixel camera with an 80-degree wide angle lens. The phone comes with various camera features that include improved AI CAM with 19 shooting modes. It supportsPortrait Mode with both the front and rear cameras, Live Photo to record a scene before and after the shutter is pressed as well as Stickers for 2D or 3D overlay effects using face recognition.
The Signature Edition is claimedto have an IP68 rating towithstand the rigours of daily wear and tear for dust and water resistance and has passed in US military’s MIL-STD 810G tests for reliability of equipment performance in harsh environments. Additional features include 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC and DTS: X 3D Surround Sound with connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC. It has a 3,300mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0 for faster and wireless charging.
LG will be retailing a limited 300 number of Signature smartphones which will be sold for an asking price of 1,999,800 won (approx. Rs 1,23,000) in South Korea and will be bundled with a free Bang & Olufsen (B&O) Beoplay H9i headphones.
