Recently, we reported that LG working on a toned down version of the latest LG G6 smartphone which would be named as LG Q6. Now as per a report of GSMArena, the company has started sending media invites for an event in Poland which reveals that the mini variant will be unveiled on July 11. Previously, the LG Q6 was also expected to be called as LG G6 Mini.
The invite, however, does not mention the name of the smartphone directly but it comes with a #LGBarbeQ” which probably hints at the LG Q6 launch. As of now, it is not revealed whether the smartphone will launch exclusively in Poland or it will be coming to other global markets also. We need to wait for launch to know more details about this smartphone.
As per the tweet made by a known tipster Evan Blass a few days ago, the smartphone will retain an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio as well. He claimed that the upcoming smartphone will sport a single camera of 13-megapixel as opposed to the dual-camera setup used in the G6. The phone will be backed by a 3GB of RAM.
As per an earlier report by TechnoBuffalo, the smartphone will sport a 5.4-inch display and it will feature a screen-to-body ratio of just under 80 percent. For you reference, the G6 comes with a screen-to-body ratio of 78.6 percent. The report further strengthens the claim of the tall aspect ratio as well.
However, the report did not reveal other specifications of the upcoming smartphone. With this, it seems that LG is working hard to regain its lost momentum. The brand is banking high on its latest flagship device and it seems that with the LG G6 Mini it will compete in the mid-premium segment, which is dominated by the likes of Samsung, Motorola and OnePlus.
