LG has announced new smartwatch like wearable gadget called KizON, meant for the kids. The LG KizON gadget packs GPS, WiFi and comes with a Call button in the front. So Parents can now keep a track of their kids and can also make calls to the KizON smartwatch to talk to their kids. LG will make the KizON available tomorrow and will be releasing it in North America and Europe later this year.
LG KizON is interesting accessory basically focused at family with kids. The KizON is like a smartwatch but without a face or dial. It just carries one single button and pattern around it to make the look attractive enough for the kids.
KizON needs to be paired with the Android App which lets the parents track the location of the wearable. KizON app works on any Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher update running device. When the parents call the accessory, the KizON can connect to the call and answer back. Note that the KizON has built-in WiFi support to enable the call.
The One Step Direct Call button as LG names it can support couple of pre-configured numbers to dial and receive calls from. If the kid does not answer calls from pre-configured numbers then the parents can simply connected to the device and enable the microphone on KizON to listen.
Featuring battery life of 36 hours, the KizON does seem like an interesting wearable for the kids and parents. However, the lack of actual watch and prank calling might make parents think twice before investing in such kind of accessory.
