It seems that LG’s next flagship smartphone, the G7, would come loaded with Qualcomm’s next generation of the mobile platform. If a recent report is to be believed, then the G7 would be powered by yet to be announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 mobile platform.
According to a report by The Investor, both the companies have already started the related development work early this month. The report further adds that the Snapdragon 845 will be based on the 7nm chip manufacturing tech and is expected to be 30 percent powerful than the current Snapdragon 835 processor.
An industry official explained that the move shows the shift of focus from stability to innovation in product development so that LG could give stiff competition to the likes of Samsung and Apple. “The adoption of the Snapdragon 845 for LG’s next flagship phone seems inevitable, considering the emerging virtual reality and augmented reality solutions require more powerful data processing capability,” an industry official was quoted by the publication.
