LG has finally announced the much awaited LG G3 smartphone with metallic finish to give it premium look. The new LG G3 features the 5.5-inch Quad-HD resolution boasting display and is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 mobile chipset. LG has packed the latest version of Simplified UX features on top of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat version. LG G3 is expected to be available worldwide sometime next month.
Much awaited LG G3 holds most of features mentioned in the leaks and speculations as reported by The Mobile Indian. Measuring 8.9 mm thick, the LG G3 offers a metallic finish to the chassis and minimal bezel and thus weigh 149 grams. The G3 offers a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display sporting 2560×1440 pixel resolution and offers crisp clarity of 538 pixels per inch. Indeed, the G3 is slightly bigger than flagship smartphones of other companies but not way too large.
The G3 is powered by a quad-core 2.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 mobile chipset. It comes in two configurations – a 16 GB on-board storage model bearing 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM and a 31 GB on-board storage model with 3 GB LPDDR3 RAM.
The LG G3 has a 13 megapixel rear camera and two LED Flash lights. LG has integrated the Optical Image Stabilization Plus (OIS+) feature in this camera just like the one in LG G Pro 2. With G3, LG has also introduced new Laser Auto Focus that calims to deliver sharp images and minimal noise. We presume the camera can easily record Full HD videos but the specifications do not show any clarity on whether the camera can capture 4k resolution videos.
For connectivity, LG G3 offers support for 4G LTE networks and packs top of the line WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac support for faster mobile web experience. Other features include Bluetooth Smart Ready (Apt-X), Near Field Communication support, GPS with A-GPS as well as GLONASS support and USB 2.0 with SlimPort support.
On the software front, LG has integrated all the modern UX features along with new Knock Code for unlocking the phone with custom knocks. LG has added new Smart Keyboard that aims to reduce the input errors by 75 per cent. The UX also offers Content Lock to safeguard some private and critical information on the phone and a Kill Switch feature to remotely wipe the phone incase of loss/theft.
LG aims to offer the G3 in Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet, and Burgundy Red color options.
