LG was reported last month to announce the upgraded variant of LG V30 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 event to be held later this month in Barcelona. Now the company has also confirmed to announce the variant at the event.
As per a report of GearBurn, CY Kim, LG Electronics South Africa’s Managing Director, revealed that the company is planning to launch a new version of the LG V30 at this year’s MWC 2018. Also, the LG G7 will not make its debut in the event. Rather LG is planning to hold a separate event in the coming months to launch LG G7.
CY Kim, however, did not reveal any details about the new upgraded variant of LG V30. But as per the earlier report, the brand is planning to add some artificial intelligence feature on the latest smartphone. The upcoming smartphone will be named as V30+ ‘α’. LG is said to partner with Google to bring improved artificial intelligence to the upcoming smartphone
One obvious reason behind launching an upgraded version of the V30 is that the company is now planning to retain its existing flagship smartphones for a longer period of time. The move is in line with LG CEO recent remark that it will launch future handsets “when it is needed” and it will not launch it just because other rivals do.
