LG Display, a part of LG, has announced what it claims to be world’s slimmest full HD LCD panel for smartphones. It is a 5.2-inch panel and is only 2.2 mm thin and comes with a 2.3 mm bezel.
The new panel uses One-Glass-Solution (OGS), which basically means that display and touch panel is almost the same with much reduced space between them. It will also offers better brightness levels and viewing angle than existing displays.
The panel will support 1,080 X 1,920 pixels Resolution with maximum brightness of 535 nits. LG Optimus G2, purported images of whose have been leaked in the recent past, is likely to be the first phone to come with this display.
According to reports, the Optimus G2 will run on latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 which is currently the most advanced and powerful Chipset from Qualcomm. G2 will be based on Android 4.2 and will be officially announced on August 7th in New York.
