LG Electronics has announced its L III smartphone line up which consists of entry level to mid-range devices. LG will showcase the devices at the Mobile World Congress 2014 on February 26. The new LG L III series consists of three smartphones – L90, L70 and L40.
These devices will clad a new design, new user interface and will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Also they will come with refined metallic frame and Quick Window smart cover in three colours. This certainly is the best news for the consumers as the latest update is promised out of the box for these devices.
However, LG has neither revealed their prices or availability details. LG has also not specified the processor models used in these devices. Here is a snapshot of the new L Series III models.
LG L90
LG L90 is to come with a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with 960×540 (qHD) pixel resolution and a quad-core 1.2 GHz mobile processor. The L90 offers 1 GB RAM and 8 GB on-board storage along with memory card slot expand the storage. The 9.7 mm thick L90 supports 3G network (HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps) for faster mobile internet. The handset has an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front for video calls. LG has packed a 2540 mAh removable battery in this phone.

LG L70
This mid-range device offers 4.5-inch IPS display sporting 800×400 pixel resolution and a dual-core 1.2 GHz mobile processor. LG has packed 1 GB RAM to offer smoother experience and 4 GB on-board storage along with memory card slot. The LG L70 measures 9.5 mm thick and will be offered in 8 megapixel camera and 5 megapixel rear camera versions in different markets. In the front, it has a VGA camera for video calls. The L70 will support 3G networks (HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps)for faster mobile internet experience. LG has packed a 2100 mAh removable battery in the L70.
LG L40
The youngest of series is the LG L40 that comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with 480×320 pixel resolution. This smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 512 MB RAM. The L40 offers 4 GB on-board storage and a 3 megapixel camera at the back. This 11.9 mm thick handset also supports 3G network (HSPA+ upto 14.4Mbps) and will be offered in 1700 mAh or 1540 mAh battery versions depending on the market.
LG is yet to share the pricing and availability plans of the new L Series III models. More details on that are expected to be shared at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Spain starting February 26.
