As we head closer to Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017, manufacturers around the globe are gearing up to showcase their new futuristic products for the masses. And it seems that LG is taking the lead at the moment, as the company has announced a new Bluetooth speaker after it recently announced a laser projector and a bunch of new smartphones, all to be unveiled at the CES 2017.
Dubbed as PJ9, the bluetooth speaker from LG can float in mid-air all thanks to the accompanying Levitation Station. The company says that the station houses powerful electromagnets which allows the blutooth speaker to float in mid-air, untouched by any surface or wires. Boasting a turbine blade-inspired design, the device features a 360-degree omnidirectional speaker with deep bass courtesy of the subwoofer embedded inside the Levitation Station. The PJ9 also features Dual Passive Radiator technology to reproduce flush mid-range tones and crisp highs for enhanced sound quality.
What’s even more interesting is that the moment the battery on this bluetooth speaker begins to run low, it automatically descends to the Levitation Station and begins to charge wirelessly with no intervention required from the listener. Talking about the charge, LG claims that the PJ9 can deliver up to 10-hours of battery life.
Other than this, the speaker comes with IPX7 certification meaning that it can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes making it ideal for both outdoors and indoors usage. Lastly, the device comes with multipoint technology through which one can connect up to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously.
Regarding the price and availability, the company has held on to it until the official launch at the CES 2017 which kickstarts January 5th, 2017.
