Lenovo IdeaTab S2109, which is an Android 4.0 based tablet with 9.7 inch screen, has just passed the testing with FCC (Federal communication commission of USA) and is expected to be launched later this month. The FCC document also lists India as the market where it will be launched but the exact date of launch is not known.
The IdeaTab S2109 has a 9.7-inch 4:3 (aspect ratio) IPS display, a Texas Instruments OMAP Processor and 4 SRS-ready speakers. It will be running the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and according to FCC diagram, it will also have a hot-swappable micro SD slot.
According to the test report, it will not have a 3G SIM slot but will feature WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. It will also feature a HDMI port and a USB port.
The product label also shows a huge 2.5A input at 5V indicating a 12.5W adapter, which suggests that the tablet will support fast charging.
Engadget’s source says that the IdeaTab S2109 will launch this month though it’s not yet known where we’ll see it first. However as per FCC documents, it will appear in Canada, Chile, China, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Turkmenistan and the USA.
