As reported earlier, Lenovo is all set to launch its Z1 smartphone in India next week. Today, Lenovo has officially announced that the Z1 smartphone will launch in India on 10th May through its twitter handle. Lenovo on twitter posted ” Announcing the World’s first Crowd Sourced Product Launch where YOU take center stage to launch the #LenovoZ1″.
Meanwhile, Lenovo has also confirmed that the ZUK Z1 will be re-named as Lenovo Z1 and will come with Cyanogen OS out-of-the-box in the country. Lenovo-backed Zuk launched its second (after Zuk Z1) smartphone ZUK Z2 Pro, at an event in China last month. But the company’s first smartphone, the Z1, is yet to be available in many markets outside of China and Europe.
Last year, Micromax got the sole right to sell the Cyanogen for the Indian market. Currently, Micromax is selling Cyanogen OS based devices in India under its Yu brand. Infact for this reason, OnePlus was forced to stop selling its Cyanogen based devices in India. Now, Cyanogen Yu partenrship is not exclusive, as Lenovo will be launching a Cyanogen OS-powered Z1 in the India.
To recall, the Lenovo Z1 features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Processor clocked at 2.5GHZ with Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB LPPDR3 RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Its body is said to be made in aircraft-grade aluminum metal frame.
The Z1 smartphone measures 155.7 x 77.3 x 8.9mm and weighs 175 grams. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony sensor (IMX214) and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It is powered by a huge 4,100 mAh battery.
Besides, this dual SIM smartphone has connectivity options like 4G, GPS, Bluetooth, fingerprint scanner, WiFi and USB Type-C port that offers up to 10 times faster data transfer compared to USB 2.0. Lenovo Z1 comes in White and Grey colours.
The Z1 is priced CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs 18,250) in China.
