Lenovo Vibe S1 unveiled, flaunts world’s first dual front camera

Lenovo Vibe S1 has been priced at $299 approx Rs 19,787, but there is no clarity about its India launch.

Lenovo has announced the Vibe S1 smartphone at the ongoing IFA event in Berlin. The highlight of this smartphone is that it comes with the world’s dual front camera setup for selfie lovers.

In Lenovo Vibe S1 the front dual camera is an assembly of an 8-megapixel primary camera and 2-megapixel camera for calculating depth. Specification wise, 5.0 based Lenovo Vibe S1 has a 5-inch IPS (1920×71080) display. It runs on a 1.7GHz octa core 64-bit MediaTek processor coupled with 3GB RAM. It has 32 of built-in storage and a slot which can further add 128 GB on memory via a micro card.

The Vibe S1 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED flash as well and it is packed with 2,500 battery.

It is a ready smartphone and supports all the regular connectivity option like WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS, and Bluetooth. The phone measures 143.3 x 70.8 x 7.8 mm and weighs 132 grams.

The Lenovo Vibe S1 will go on sale in November and will be available in select countries, details about which have not been shared so far, for a price tag of $299 approx Rs 19,787. Color option available for the phone will be Pearl White and Midnight Blue.

On Earlier occasions, a couple of handset players have launched smartphones, Xolo Black and Huawei 6Plus, with dual rear camera but this is for the first time that someone has come out with a dual front camera.

The Xolo Black is currently being sold at Rs 12,999 in India and features a 5.5 inch IPS display with full HD (1080p) resolution. It is based on Android Lollipop operating system with a 3200 mAh battery. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.7 GHz octa core processor that comes in 64 bit architecture. The device has 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, 32 GB expandable storage slot and has OTG functionality as well.

On the other hand, Huawei Honor 6 Plus is priced at Rs 26,499 and has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. It has an Octa-Core (4×1.8GHz Cortex A15 4×1.3GHz Cortex A7) Hisilicon Kirin 925 processor with Mali T628-MP4 and 3 GB RAM. The handset measures 150.46 x 75.68 x 7.5 mm and it weighs 165 grams.

It runs on Android 4.4 along with Emotion UI 3.0 with a 3600 mAh battery which can double up as a charger for other devices as well. On the connectivity front it supports 4G (TDD/ FDD network), Glonass, WIFi, and NFC. It also has port which can be used as a remote control for operating different electronic appliance like TV, AC, and so on.
