Lenovo joined the clan of Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 hardware partners last month at the Microsoft BUILD 2014 developer conference. Now, Lenovo is ready to introduce its first Windows Phone 8.1 version running smartphone sometime later this year. Liu Jun, president for Lenovo Mobile Business Group, informed Mobile Geeks, that the company definitely will introduce a Windows Phone 8.1 device sometime later this year.
In coming months, we can expect to see more companies other than Nokia to introduce their first budget to mid-range Windows Phone 8.1 based smartphones. Out of these handsets, we anticipate couple of them to support the Dual-SIM configuration which is quite popular in International markets such India and Singapore.
Jun did not share any details or specifications of the first Lenovo Windows Phone 8.1 device. But information about possibility of Lenovo branded wearables was clearly hinted in the conversation.
Apart from Lenovo, India Market also anticipates Windows Phone 8.1 based devices from Lava, Karbonn and Micromax.
