Microsoft, the famous hardware company has recently partnered with Lenovo and now it has come to light that various smartphones of Lenovo will come with pre-installed Microsoft apps such as Office, Skype and One Drive.
“Microsoft’s thrilled that our productivity apps will be pre-installed on Lenovo’s premium devices, the marriage of Microsoft’s apps and Lenovo’s Android-based devices will enable customers around the world to be more productive, more connected and achieve more,” corporate VP of Microsoft’s OEM division Nick Parker was quoted as saying.
Though the exact smartphones which will come with these apps are not revealed, but Motorola which is currently owned by Lenovo will also be affected by the deal. In other words, some Motorola smartphones will also come with pre-installed apps. Moreover, this deal also implies that Lenovo doesn’t need to pay any Royalty fees to Microsoft to get the apps on its phones. Whereas, Microsoft with this deal will look to expand its users.
Microsoft is actually imposing Lenovo and Motorola customers to use its apps. In other words, this deal might end up getting the title of unnecessary Bloatware partnership. For those who don’t know, Bloatware are apps which comes pre-installed on smartphones and can’t be uninstalled without root access.
A lot of smartphone manufacturers are known to fill their phones with unnecessary apps which not only takes up the Internal Memory but also are quite useless. Well, apps from Microsoft are certainly not useless and many of us might have even installed it on our phones. Still, we hope there is an option to uninstall these apps for those who don’t need them.
But at the same time many would be thrilled to have Microsoft’s apps which are quite useful.
