PC maker Lenovo has announced the launch of its IdeaPad K1 and ThinkPad tablets in India. Lenovo will also launch an entry level tablet &#151 IdeaPad A1, in India in coming times.

“Over the next six months, Lenovo will introduce tablets of varying sizes and platforms,” added the company in a release.

IdeaPad K1

The IdeaPad K1 is the Lenovo’s first Honeycomb tablet, and one of its first aimed at the casual user. The tablet comes with a 10 inch capacitive touch display, and is on the heavier side weighing 0.75 kg.

Design wise the tablet is slightly of trend but looks good, there are four colour choices silver white, black, red and grey, to choose from.

The tablet comes armed with Android 3.1 and Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core ARM Cortex A9 clocked at 1.0 Ghz. Besides, it has 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi connectivity options.

IdeaPad K1’s battery, as per the company, would provide up to 10 hours usage time. It also comes integrated with 2 front camera and a 5 megapixel back mounted webcam. card reader, mini HDMI connector and optional docking port are also available.

Its capacitive touch screen also promises 10 point multi-touch.The IdeaPad also will come preloaded with 40 apps specially customized for Indian users.

It comes in two variants &#151 32 (3G) for a price of Rs 29,500 and 32 GB (WiFi) for Rs 33,990.

ThinkPad

ThinkPad on the other hand is aimed at business users, this Lenovo tablet offers some corporate friendly features such as Computrace which can find the tablet if it is lost or stolen and users can even remotely freeze the device or delete all the data remotely if it can’t be recovered. It also comes with Citrix Receiver which allows the tablet to remotely access PC desktops and use the applications as if they were running natively.

This 10.1 inch tablet comes with NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core mobile processor with built-in Adobe Flash Player, and Android 3.1 operating system.

ThinkPad Tablet comes with an optional digitiser pen, a full-size port, full-size SD card slot, and mini-HDMI for connecting to external projectors and displays, as well as an optional ThinkPad quality Keyboard Folio Case with optical TrackPoint.

Offering a 10.1 WXGA (1280×800) display, the ThinkPad tablet also comes with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass. The ThinkPad Tablet allows users to view and edit Microsoft Office documents with the preloaded Documents to Go by DataViz. Users can also plug in the Keyboard Folio for fast, comfortable and accurate typing and mouse control

With WiFi connectivity, 2 GB of free cloud storage, a standard size USB port and SD Card Reader and Lenovo’s unique file copy utility, sharing media files and documents with other people and electronic devices is easy. Users can keep in touch with friends and business contacts using Lenovo’s exclusive SocialTouch app.

IdeaPad A1

IdeaPad A1 is the smaller and the cheaper tablet offering from Lenovo, that will be launched in India at a later date. The Lenovo IdeaPad A1 features a 7-inch dsiplay with 1024 x 600 resolution, 1GHz TI OMAP A8 processor, 2GB of internal storage, GPS, Bluetotoh, WiFi, micro SD slot, 3 megapixel rear facing camera, and 0.3 megapixel front facing camera. On the software side of things the IdeaPad A1 leaves the Honeycomb for bigger siblings and comes with Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3.

It will come in 16 GB version with WiFi support with a price of Rs 14,990.
