Lenovo today announced the launch of its latest sensation, the Lenovo A7000, in India for just Rs 8,999, directly putting it against the popular Yu Yureka and Redmi Note 4G. Like these two phones, the Lenovo A7000 too will be available online via flash sales.
Note that the Redmi Note 4G has a price tag of Rs 9,999 while the other two comes for Rs 8,999. Needless to say, it is a very interesting competition. So let’s check out what these phones have to offer. This comparison will give you a clear idea about their standing versus each other.
We have already reviewed both Yu Yureka as well as Redfmi Note 4G which will further clarify some of your doubts as well.
Design and display
With 8 mm of thickness and 140 grams of weight, the Lenovo A7000 is certainly quite light and slim. It is infact said to be replica of its predecessor, the A6000, due to the same candy bar design and plastic body with matte finish rear panel. But its power and volume keys are made of metal (unlike that of A6000 which I had highlighted during its review).
Redmi Note 4G of Xiaomi too have a plastic body but its rear panel has slight glossiness. The volume rocker and the power button, which are placed side by side on the right hand side, also look quite fragile. It too has candy bar design but is heavier (199 grams) and thicker (9.5 mm) than A7000.
The Yu Yureka thus seems to be the best handset in this contest in terms of design with its rubberised back panel. It has a dimension of 154.8 x 78 x 6-8.8 mm and weighs 155 grams.
All the three handsets have 5.5 inch touchscreen and that too with the same high definition resolution. However, only the Yu Yureka and Lenovo A7000’s displays have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Operating System
Here too the Yu Yureka and the new Lenovo A7000 shines while Redmi Note 4G looks a bit stale. The Yu Yureka though offers Android KitKat version, it has got the popular Cyanogenmod while the A7000 comes armed with the latest Android Lollipop version. On the other hand, there is no information about the latest Android software for the Redmi Note 4G which is currently based on the Android KitKat and has the MIUI interface.
Processing Power
In terms of processing power too, the Lenovo A7000 and Yu Yureka are much better than the Redmi Note 4G. The A7000 has the Mediatek MT6752m Chipset that has a 1.5 GHz octa core Processor and Mali-T760MP2 graphics processor. The Yu Yureka offers Snapdragon 615 chipset that has an 1.7 GHz octa core processor and Adreno 405 graphics processor.
The Redmi Note 4G looks pale with the Snapdragon 400 chipset which combines a 1.6 Ghz quad core processor and Adreno 305 GPU.
Storage
All the three handsets offer 2 GB RAM. However, Yureka has much better 16 GB internal storage while the other two come with only 8 GB ROM. In terms of expandable storage slot, the Yu Yureka and Lenovo A7000 has 32 GB capacity while the Redmi Note 4G offers a 64 GB micro SD card slot.
Connectivity
All these handsets are 4G-LTE compatible. The Lenovo A7000 and Yu Yureka smartphones have two SIM slots but the Redmi Note 4G offers only one SIM slot. The Xiaomi smartphone though offers dual Band WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP LE, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, FM radio and Micro USB 2.0 port.
Both Lenovo A7000 and Yu Yureka offers WiFi (b/g/n) with Hotspot feature, GPS with A-GPS, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP and micro USB 2.0 port
Camera
Both Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G offers 13 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. We had recently compared the cameras of these two smartphones which you check out here.
The Lenovo A7000 too has a 5 megapixel front camera but its rear camera is of 8 megapixel resolution.
Battery
The YuYureka has a 2500 mAh Li-Po battery against 3100 mAh Li-Po battery of Redmi Note 4G and 2900 mAh Li-Po battery of A7000. Here one should note that the Redmi Note 4G has a quad core processor and hence a bit less power hungry.
Conclsuion
As is evident from the above comparision, at Rs 8,999, the Lenovo A7000 and Yu Yureka look much better than the Redmi Note 4G that costs Rs 9,999. So basically it boils down to the A7000 versus Yu Yureka contest. To be honest, it is a very tough battle as both the phones have almost the same features. So we will wait a bit longer to have deeper look at the Lenovo A7000 after which we will like to pronounce our judgement.
