Lemon Mobile 3D Android phone launched for Rs 12,000

The Lemon Aspirational A3 gets a 4.3 inch 3D display, 1 GHz dual core processor, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1 GB RAM and 1650 mAh battery.

Lemon Mobiles, an Indian mobile brand, has launched a new 3D mobile phone called Aspirational A3 smartphone, priced at Rs 12,000. The A3 runs on a 1 GHz dual core and promises glasses free 3D viewing. The 4.0 ICS powered device comes with a 4.3 inch 3D display with qHD (960 x 540 pixel) resolution. It has an 8 megapixel camera at the back and a 2 megapixel unit in the front. There is 1 of RAM and 4 GB of inbuilt memory. It is powered by a 1650 battery. The phone will compete with Micromax Canvas 3D in the Indian market. It is currently selling for Rs 9,590 only.

Along with the price advantage Micromax’s offering has a bigger 5 inch display, a 2000 mAh battery and more advanced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. However, the Lemon offering comes with better RAM (Canvas 3D has 512 MB), better camera (compared to the 5 megapixel unit on Micromax), and also better display resolution (Micromax gets WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution). However, if Micromax Canvas 3D is any experience to go by we don’t think the time is right to launch 3D phones. Canvas 3D’s 3D is such a headache inducing experience we are hardly inclined towards a new offering, but if Lemon has managed to get rid of that problem, then it won’t be a difficult task to counter the Micromax offering even if it is priced higher.
