German-based camera-maker Leica has unveiled the Leica V-Lux 5 Superzoom compact camera in India. The camera comes with 16X zoom, a 20MP sensor, an OLED viewfinder, super-fast Autofocus and 4K video recording. The Leica V-Lux 5 camera will be available in India for a price of Rs 98,000.
The camera comes with Leica’s DC Vario-Elmarit 9.1–146 f/2.8–f/4 lens with a zoom functionality of up to 16X through the focal range support of 25mm to 400mm. It’s powered by a 1-inch 20.9MP MOS sensor offering a maximum sensitivity of ISO 12800 and an extended sensitivity of ISO 25000.
There’s a 0.39-inch OLED live viewfinder at the back offering an aspect ratio of 4:3 and a Resolution of 2.36-megapixels and 0.74x magnification. There’s also a 3-inch TFT LCD screen at the back offering 1.24-megapixels resolution, a 3:2 aspect ratio and touch screen functionality.
The camera also comes with the DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology which allows it to focus on a subject within 0.1 seconds. It offers a continuous burst rate of up to 12fps. In 4K burst mode, the Leica V-Lux 5 achieves 30 frames per second with a resolution of 8 megapixels.
Users can record videos at 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) at a frame rate of up to 30 fps. The camera also offers a full-HD mode with a frame rate of up to 60fps.
The V-Lux 5 camera comes with WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB 2.0 for connectivity. Users can make use of the Leica FOTOS App to share images, videos and adjust camera parameters from a smartphone. The app also enables the smartphone to be used as a viewfinder and for shutter release. With USB connectivity, the camera can also be charged using a portable power bank.
The Leica V-Lux 5 Superzoom compact camera will be available from the middle of August for a price of Rs 98,000 in India.
