LeEco Le X850 spotted but the company has been in troubled waters

The smartphone was first spotted in November last year on TENNA.

If new leaks are to be believed, LeEco will launch its high-end smartphone next month, dubbed as LeEco Le X850. The famous leakster, KJuma, has claimed that the said smartphone will be launched on April 11 in China and will have four colour options to choose from- gold, grey, black and white.

As far as India is concerned, LeEco had entered the Indian smartphone industry back in January 2016 with its Le1s and got a ravishing response due to its competitive pricing. However, the successor to the Le1s i.e Le2, even though it was a good device, didn’t quite escalate the things for the company. Later on, the Chinese handset manufacturer entered the TV segment in August 2016 by launching three smart TVs and look to expand further company decided to make its way to the United States by launching Le Pro3 and Le S3 in October2016 but failed to get the desired response. If we talk about the Indian market, the company lost its majority of the market share to other competitors like Xiaomi, Lenovo, Vivo, Oppo and now it has been struggling to find its place in this highly competitive market. So now it would bean uphilltask for the company to regain its lost glory in this highlycompetitive Indian market and we should not expect anyhigh-endphone to make its waytoIndiaanytimesoon.

Few months back, Jia Yueting, co-founder and head of Le Holdings Co Ltd, admitted that the company is going through tough time, as company quickly running out of cash and amid all this fiasco, company bid adieu to 85% of its India staff recently including two of its top executives- Atul Jain, chief operating officer of smart electronics business, and Debashish Ghosh, chief operating officer for Internet applications. Even there were rumours that company might exit the Indian market. However, the company has denied such plans saying “India is one of the most strategic markets for LeEco and hence no exit plan.. has recalibrated and reimagined its business in India since last year and taken a number of steps to ensure that the scale of operations is in sync with resources.”

It needs to seen how the things pan out for LeEco in India as no new launch has happened for quite some time now and we do keep getting informationthat all is not well in the company.
