Coolpad and LeEco are gearing up to launch their first joint smartphone, Cool1 Dual, in India next month. The highlight of this smartphone, apart from being a joint production dual rear camera setup.The partnership between the two companies began when LeEco’s CEO Jia Yueting took over as Coolpad’s Chairman in August.
Also, In June, LeEco became the largest shareholder in Chinese smartphone company Coolpad with a total of 28.9 percent shares in its name.
“Cool1 Dual smartphone will be launched in mid-December in India and may be priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 17,000,” sources familiar with the development said to the Mobile Indian.
Coolpad and LeEco co-developed smartphone ‘Cool1 Dual’ was launched in August this year in China. In India, two variants of the device, 3GB RAM+32GB and 4GB RAM+64GB, will be launched in a phased manner. In the first phase, 3GB model will be launched.
The Cool1 Dual smartphone has a metal unibody with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) in-cell display. It has an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, which is paired with Adreno 510 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system but has a customised user interface called LeEco’s EUI 5.6.
Cool1 Dual has two 13-megapixel rear cameras which come with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection Autofocus (PDAF), dual tone LED flash on the back, while in its front lies an 8-megapixel snapper with f/2.2 Aperture for selfies and video calling. The smartphone comes packed with powerful 4060 mAh non-removable battery with fast charging. The smartphone has a fingerprint sensor on the back panel. This dual SIM device offers 4G with VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 ac/a/b/g/n) ,Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and USB Type-C port which will be double up as an audio port. The handset measures 152 × 74.8 × 8.2mm and weighs 167 grams.
