The first ever flash sale of LeEco Le 1S (Eco) is to be held today at 2 PM on Flipkart. Like its predecessor, the Le 1S, the new LeEco smartphone too looks irresistible on paper. But wait, it has got competition too in the form of Meizu M3 Note which was launched in India yesterday at Rs 9,999. The Le 1S (Eco) too is priced at Rs 9,999.
So which one makes sense at the said price? Let’s find out.
Design
The Le 1s Eco has a full metal body and is said to be made of aircraft-grade aluminium. Like its predecessor, it too has screw-less design with very thin bezel which accentuates its thin looks. Mind you it is just 7.6 mm thin. It also has the iconic mirror-finished fingerprint sensor. This phone has a 5.5 inch touchscreen that has full HD resolution which means its screen has huge 403 ppi. The display has also Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The Le 1s Eco measures 74.2×151.1×7.6 mm and weighs 170 grams.
The Meizu M3 Note too has a 5.5 inch display and that too with full HD resolution. It is thicker, smaller but a bit wider than the Le smartphone. To be specific, the M3 Note is 153.6 mm tall, 75.5 mm wide, and 8.2 mm thick. The phone weighs 163 grams and it too has metal body.
A big difference in the design is their side panels. The Meizu handset has curvier sides while the Le Eco phone has sharp edges and flat side panels.
Camera
The Meizu M3 Note offers a 13 megapixel rear camera that has f/2.2 aperture, 5 element lens, PDAF auto focus and two tone flash light. For selfies, it has a 5 megapixel front camera that has f/2.0 Aperture and 4 element lens.
The Le 1s (Eco) has a 13 megapixel rear camera that has F/2.0 aperture, PDAF auto focus, 1/3.1 sensor, slow motion recording ability, and an LED light support. It too offers a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies.
So on paper both look quite equal in the camera department but that is just figures; in reality they might behave quite differently.
Connectivity
The Le 1s (Eco) has two SIM card slots as the Meizu M3 Note. Both the phones also offer 4G connectivity. The Le 1s (Eco) has Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with AGPS and GLONASS, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), WiFi Hotspot and a USB Type C port.
The Meizu smartphone has Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac) as well as GPS with AGPS and GLONASS. Both the phones have fingerprint sensor as well.
Other Features
The Meizu M3 Note has Helio P10 Premium octa core processor, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory. The Le 1s (Eco) also has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage but it has 1.85 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 Octa Core Processor.
Meizu M3 Note has Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and has Flyme OS 5.1 custom user interface on top. The Le Eco phone has Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system and it has a heavily customized interface called EUI 5.5.
It is quite obvious that both the phones are quite powerful smartphones and would be great for gaming as well as multitasking.
The Le Eco phone has a 3000 mAh Li-Polymer battery while the Meizu M3 Note has a huge 4100 mAh battery.
Wrapping up
The Meizu M3 Note has a bigger battery but in all other departments, they look like twins. So in our view, both are quite good smartphones for Rs 9,999 so choose the phone whose looks you like the most. But if you want to be fully sure before buying any of these two, then we would recommend you to wait a bit longer till we review the handsets.
