Homegrown mobile manufacturer, Lava International have announced the Lava Z81 smartphone in India with Studio Mode photography that uses Artificial Intelligence to give depth-of-field effect. The new Lava Z81 comes in two variants – 2GB and 3GB, the latter priced at Rs 3,499.
The Lava smartphone sports a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device is powered by a 2.0 GHz Quad-core Helio A22 Chipset with 32GB international storage and 2GB/3GB RAM options. With the Helio A22, the Z81 will be able to use AI technology on safety and camera features as well as an improvement in battery life.
The Z81 runs on Android 8.1 with Lava’s own Star OS 5.0 on top and is fuelled by 3000mAh battery that Lava claims will last up to 1.5 days on a single charge. This will be possible through Lava’s AI technology which monitors the phone’s battery consumption and also shuts down apps running in the background.
In terms of optics, the Lava Z81 features a 13 MP Rear camera with studio mode feature which allows users to apply six impressive studio-quality lighting effects to the images clicked. Users can choose from Splash, Stage Light, Stage Light Mono, Natural, Vibrant and Contour to take a picture with different lighting effects. There’s also a 13 MP front camera (with Flash) featuring the same six studio mode effects.
LAVA has also partnered with Microsoft to upgrade the Z81 keyboard App to SwiftKey keyboard, which uses artificial intelligence to provide users with personal word predictions and corrections. Additionally, the smartphone also provides an option for users to read the SMS in 15 Indian languages. The device also comes with a Special Launch offer of free one-time screen replacement, applicable for the purchase of the Lava Z81 on or before January 31, 2019.

The Lava Z81 comes in two variants – 2GB and 3GB, the latter is currently available for Rs 9,499 in Black and Gold variants at Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and offline retail outlets across the country. The 2GB variant will be launched soon too.
