Lava has joined hands with Google to make an ultra low cost smartphone under the later’s Android One programme, as per a report of Wall Street Journal. The report, quoting sources, went on to claim that the new smartphone will be priced between Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 and will be launched within next few months.
“The new device is the product of a revamped initiative that gives device makers more freedom to choose the components and features that go into the phones and how much they cost,” the report quoted its sources as saying.
Google launched Android One in India in September 2014. So far Micromax, Karbonn and Spice have brought Android One smartphones.
