It’s been a month since the company released the 34 Super feature phone for Rs 1,799 and Lava Mobiles has already gained 100 percent growth in terms of market share since last year. The homegrown company has now attained a 13 percent share in the feature phone market as of Q1 2019, up from Lava’s 6 percent share in 2018.
According to the latest research by Counterpoint Research, Lava has reached the third spot in the 2G Feature Phone segment, losing only to Samsung and Jio. However, between Lava and Samsung, the difference was only 2 percent of the 400 million users which total the whole of the Indian Feature phone market.Meanwhile, Jio established its presence at the top with a 30 percent market share which only dipped 6 percent from 36 percent since last year.
Lava was also reported as the No. 1 Feature Phone Brand in India in the month of February after the company toppled over its competitors with a market share of 16 percent. At the same time, Samsung and Lyf shared a market share of 15 percent each.
