China based Konka has made its debut in India with two Android smartphones under its Expose series. The phones, called Expose 960 and Expose 970, are priced at Rs 13,999 and Rs 14,999 respectively.
The Expose 960 comes with a 4.3 inch display with WVGA (800×480) Resolution while the Expose 970 has a 4.5 inch IPS display with qHD resolution of 960×540 pixels. Both the phones come with 8 Megapixel camera at the back and 2 megapixel front camera.
Both the phones offer dual SIM connectivity, 1 GHz dual core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB ROM (inbuilt memory) and are based on Android 4.0 operating system.
Expose 960 and Expose 970 offers WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS as well as have Sensors like Gravity and Proximity. These phones come with an interesting box, called as Boom Box by Konda. Unlike normal mobile phone boxes which were useless, these Boom Box actually acts like amplifiers and hence if you place the phone inside it, they amplifies the sound of the phone.
The phone also comes with K-Store which is an application store from Konka itself. However, we do not how many apps the App store has or how useful it will be in comparison to Google Play. Konka has also included a motion sensor-assisted functions in Expose’ in which flipping the phone to face the floor mutes all sounds. The phone also offers ‘picture in picture’ feature that allows the user to watch two videos or pictures at the same time.
Manish Pengoriya, director, MAK Mobility (which is the distribution and sales partner of Konka in India), said, “With K-Store, Konka offers exclusive apps in Expose’ that completes the package and allows the user to enjoy an amazing camera-phone experience. We are optimistic of double digit growth in the Indian market and believe that Konka phones will gain a stronger foothold in India’s ever growing handset market, by providing smart devices coupled with Cloud based services and applications.”
Konka which is entering the market with these phones, claims that it already has organised distribution network in place.
