After Micromax and Lava, now Karbonn has announced a new budget smartphone with Android KitKat to counter the Motorola Moto E. The new phone, named as Karbon Titanium S99, features Android 4.4 KitKat and a 4-inch touchscreen display. Karbonn is offering the Titanium S99 at Rs 5,990 in Black and White colour options along with protective silicon case.
Karbonn’s new Titanium S99 boasts of 3.98-inch touchscreen display and is powered by quad-core 1.3 Ghz mobile Processor of unspecified make. Highlight of the phone is the Android 4.4 KitKat powered with the 512 MB RAM. Google promised that Android 4.4 KitKat update has been optimised to work smoothly even with 512 MB RAM and now this smartphone put its to the real world test.
By default, the Titanium S99 offers 4 GB on-board storage and memory card slot to hold up to 32 GB Micro SD card. At the rear, it has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash for imaging and in the front is a VGA camera for video calls.
The Titanium S99 supports Dual-SIM configuration and can accommodate one 3G network enable SIM. Other network features include WiFi support and Bluetooth along with G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor and GPS navigation.
Karbonn has packed 1400 mAh battery in this Dual-SIM smartphone which clearly won’t be enough. The Titanium S99 is set to compete with Micromax Canvas Engage recently introduced for around same price.
Android KitKat Phones Under Rs 10,000:
Earlier, Motorola launched its Moto E for Rs 6,999 in India which became the first phone to be launched in India with the latest Android operating system and as expected it became an instant hit. To counter Moto E, Micromax has recently launched three Android KitKat based phones in quick succession, namely Canvas Engage, Canvas Unite 2, and Canvas A105.
Following that Lava came out with its Iris X1 while its sister organisation, Xolo announced the Android KitKat update for its Q1000 Opus. Meanwhile, another Indian handset maker, Celkon just last week announced the launch of its first Android KitKat based smartphone. The new Celkon Campus A35K is also happens to be the cheapest Android KitKat smartphone as it is priced at just Rs 2,999. Home grown, iBerry has also launched a phone, called Auxus Linea L1, with Android KitKat at Rs 6,990.. So expect more Android KitKat based smartphones in coming times.
