Putting all rumours to rest, HTC today officially confirmed that its latest HTC 10 will be launched in India. Earlier only the HTC 10 Lifestyle was expected to be launched in India. The official confirmation came just minutes ago.
“We are pleased to announce that global flagship HTC 10 is coming soon to India. Stay tuned for the announcement and the availability date.” Faisal Siddiqui, president HTC South Asia, announced in a press note just a short while ago.
HTC 10 and HTC 10 Lifestyle versions were announced earlier this week. Note that the HTC 10 comes with 4 GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 Chipset while the HTC 10 Lifestyle comes with has Snapdragon 625 chipset and 3 GB RAM. The HTC 10 has 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants while the Lifestyle model comes in only 32 GB inbuilt memory version.
Soon after the announcement, HTC 10 Lifestyle variant was found listed on HTC India webpage, this sparked rumours that HTC 10 might not be coming to India at all. HTC was thus severely criticized by the Indian media.
Curiously, on HTC India website, the HTC 10 Lifestyle is still listed but the spec sheet shows the features of HTC 10.
Both HTC 10 and HTC 10 Lifestyle variants comes with Android Marshmallow operating system, 12 megapixel UltraPixel rear camera, 5 megapixel Auto Focus front camera that has OIS feature, 5.2 inch Quad HD display and 3000 mAh battery.
HTC 10 has chamfered edges, a full glass front that merges seamlessly into the metal body. This 4G phone has Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, WiFi (ac), DLNA, AirPlay, Miracast, GPS with GLONASS and Beidou, and 2 TB expandable storage facility.
