While other manufacturers played it safe in terms of bringing out innovation in the year 2016, it seems that Huawei is all set to surprise us at a time when many are looking forward to what 2017 has up its sleeves. Interestingly, the company is secretly working on a bezel-less and a modular smartphone, claims recent reports.
As per the reports, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is all set to launch two new concept smartphones in December with the one coming with a bezel-less design, dubbed as Honor Magic, and other being a modular device. To start with, the modular smartphone will be officially unveiled on December 7 i.e. Today, while the Honor Magic is scheduled to launch on December 16.
The modular smartphone, as reported by GizmoChina, won’t come with standard smartphone components like camera, speaker etc, but Huawei is reportedly planning to offer various components as accessories, similar to what we saw in the Lenovo-owned Motorola’s Moto Z family. Other rumours suggest that the new concept phone will be equipped with a curved display made by Samsung. And finally, the device is also supposed to come with Huawei’s in-house fast-charging technology, which is expected to charge the device up to 50 per cent within five minutes of charging.
On the other hand, the ‘Honor Magic’ will be company’s first smartphone to boast a bezel-less display. Further, as mentioned above, the Chinese handset manufacturer has also announced that it will be launching the new concept phone on December 16. Apart from this, the company did not reveal much about the ‘Honor Magic’, however, multiple reports, including the recently revealed teaser, suggest that the smartphone will come with a 6-inch bezel-less display with slim chins both at the top and bottom of the device.
If these rumours come out to be true, it would be interesting to see how the brand holds on against the likes of Xiaomi who recently launched Mi Mix, company’s first bezel-less smartphone coming in with a 6.4-inch display.
