The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has signed up with the Indian cab aggregator Ola Cabs to provide seamless commute for railway passengers. This connects the passengers from their first mile till the last mile of their journey. This offers to the commuters a one-stop solution and also enhances their mobility. Customers can pre-book cabs up to 7 days in advance or upon reaching the railway station. This makes Ola the first ride-sharing platform in India to partner with the IRCTC. The IRCTC platform has integrated the Ola booking API for both their App and web interface.
This partnership allows commuters to book from all ranges such as Ola Micro and Ola Mini for shorter rides to Prime Play and SUVs for large groups with plenty of room for luggage as well as Ola Autos and Ola Share.Ola has also integrated their booking facility as a part of tour packages and travel itineraries. One can also book cabs via Ola’s self-serving counter at IRCTC outlets at railway stations.
Here’s how you can book an Ola from the IRCTC website or the mobile app:-
Step 1:Login to IRCTC with your credentials.
Step 2: Click on the services section and select ‘Book a cab’.
Step 3: Book your preferred mode of commute and confirm.
Ola was founded by Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati in 2011 and is one of the world’s largest ride-sharing companies. Ola integrates convenient transportation in the city for its customers along with a partnership with drivers. All this is handled through a mobile app. The platform is transparent and quick.
In 2016 Ola Play was introduced. This marks the world’s first connected car platform. With Ola Play users can have a highly personalized experience during their ride by controlling what type of entertainment is playing on the stereo. This also allowed major service providers such as Microsoft, Apple Music, Sony Liv etc. to integrate with their platform and build a high-quality interface. This transformed the commuting experience and set the tone for global innovation in this space. Ola is available in more than 110 cities with more than 1 million drivers.
