Intex Cloud S9, which we had discovered on the company’s website, has now been launched at at Rs 6,499. The smartphone comes in Blue and Grey colour.
The Intex Cloud S9 offers a big 5.5-inch IPS touchscreen which has 1280 x 720 pixels or high definition resolution, which is becoming common to sub-Rs 10,000 devices. The screen has DragonTrail Glass so expect some sort of protection from scratches. A 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6737) Processor is there in the phone along with 2GB of RAM and Mali-T720 MP1 650MHz GPU. Thus it should be able to run most games if not the high end ones.
Thankfully, the Cloud S9 has the Android Marshmallow operating system – the best that you can expect in the budget range these days as Android Nougat is yet to be made available even for most of the high end smartphones. Also, the Intex phone offers a fairly big 3650 mAh Li-Poly battery which, Intex claims, can offer talk-time of up-to 16 hours and Standby time of up-to 200 hours – which if true is certainly commendable.
The Cloud S9 comes with 16GB of internal storage and it has an expandable storage of 32GB capacity as well. It is though not clear whether it has a hybrid SIM slot or has a dedicated micro SD card slot apart from the dual SIM slot. Notably, it offers VoLTE, so you can use the Reliance Jio SIM in it and enjoy the operator’s free services till the end of this year. Coming back to Intex Cloud S9, the phone also offers WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/AGPS and a Micro USB port.
With an 8-megapixel rear camera module and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, the phone looks decent in camera department. Ofcourse that doesn’t mean we are certifying it as a good camera smartphone. Many of its competitors fail miserably in actual test despite having better looking cameras. Nonetheless, the Cloud S9 offers dual flash lights in the rear and a LED flash in the front for selfies and video calling. The phone offers Panorama Mode, Face Beauty, Victory Gesture, Smile Shot and Voice Capture like camera features while Gesture Control, Emergency Rescue, Breathing Light (LED blinks when notifications arrives), G-sensor, Proximity Sensor, and Light Sensor.
The Intex Cloud S9 measures 153.55×76.7×8.7mm and weighs 161.5 grams. The Cloud S9 also comes with pre-loaded apps like Matrabhasha, LFTY, Fota, Opera Mini, Intex Service, DailyHunt, NewsPoint, and Saavn.
