Intel, recently, introduced a new Intel i9 series and the 18-core core i9 extreme editionat Computex 2017, held at Taipei, .The i9 series is available in variants like 10-core Core i9-7900X, 12-core Core i9-7920X, 14-core Core i9-7940X,16-core Core i9-7960X and 18-core Core i9-7890XE extreme edition. All of the Intel i9 Processor series has a base clock speed of 3.3 GHz. The Intel Core i9 extreme edition processor has 18 cores and 36 threads.
In India, the Core i9 Extreme editon is expected to be priced roughly around Rs 1, 30,000 while the 10-core Core i9 will be around Rs 64,500.
The Intel core i9 claims to meet the high performance needs of the consumer as it uses two fastest cores at higher frequency. When an extremely mega task is needed to be performed, it uses upto 18-cores. Multitasking can be easily done in the systems which have Intel’s core i9 series processor. While the 10-core Core i9 is all set to release in the month of June, 2017, the other variants,i.e, 12,14 and 16-core would be released somewhat in the mid of August 2017. The release date of the i9 Extreme edition is expected to be in the mid of 2018.
