Facebook owned Instagram has introduced a new update which brings a feature called Stories. This new feature lets you post pictures and video slideshows that last for 24 hours. Incidentally, this is very similar to what Snapchat introduced earlier.
The new Instagram ‘Stories’ feature lets you put posts containing pictures, 10 second videos, Emojis and texts which will disappear after 24 hours. All your Instagram followers will able to see your ‘Story’ simply by tapping on the same and similar to Snapchat, you will also come to know who viewed your story.
Announcing the new feature, Mark Zukerberg, CEO – Facebook, said, “This is the latest step in putting video at the center of all our services. People are already creating and sharing more video, so we’re going to make it even easier.”
Last month Snapchat introduced a new memories feature which lets user save and share content on Facebook.
Currently, Instagram has almost 500 million users against Facebook’s huge 1.2 billion user base.
As of now, the update is being rolled out for Android and iOS.
