India saw launch of 19 tablets in October

In October, 19 tablets were launched in the country and all of them were low cost tablet and the cheapest tablet was priced at Rs 3,999

Tablet market is getting hotter day by day India and it is propelled by low cost tablets that are flooding market. In October, 19 tablets were launched in the country and all of them were low cost tablet and the cheapest tablet was priced at Rs 3,999.

Here is the list of the tablets launched last month.

HCL Me G1

HCL Me G1 tablet has 4.0.4 operating system, a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and 1 GB of RAM. The 9.7 inch display is an IPS 2 panel with very healthy resolution.

The tablet also has 16 GB of internal memory and micro SD card slot with up to 32 GB support. HCL Me G1 has a 2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. For connectivity, the tablet has 4.0 which is the latest version and offers very fast connection. It also has WiFi, 3G, HDMI and USB support.

HCL has put in a fairly large 7000 battery in the tablet which should offer good battery backup. The tablet also gets a very reasonable price of Rs 14,999.

Zync Z1000

Zync Global, an Indian tablet brand, had launched a new 9.7-inch tablet, called Z1000, for Rs 10,990 in India.

The Zync Z1000 currently runs on Android 4.0 and will get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade in the future. The tablet also houses 9.7-inch IPS panel display with a healthy 1024x768p resolution. It has a 1.5GHz Cortex A8 processor and 1 GB RAM.

Zync Z1000 comes with in-built support with voice calling feature. Besides, there is a 0.3 megapixel front camera, 2 megapixel rear camera, 8 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB, a SIM card slot, mini HDMI port and two micro USB ports. The tablet, however, doesn’t have support, though navigation is available through cellular network.

There is a 7000 mAh battery at core in this tablet. Additionally, the company is also offering freebies worth Rs 1,350 which include a lycra pouch, screen protector, pair of earphones and 1 month subscription for BigFlix.

iBall Slide 3G 7334

The new iBall Slide 3G 7334 tablet is priced at Rs 10,990 and is claimed to be the first dual SIM tablet in India. The tablet also comes with built-in FM Transmitter (you can create your own FM station in a very small area like home or car) which is again a first for a tablet in India.

The tablet runs on Cortex A9 1GHz processor and has Android 4.0 ICS operating system. Another special feature of the tablet is the 3G support with both its SIM slots (normally in phones only one slot supports 3G while the other works on 2G).

Low cost tablet brand, Zync has launched another Android operating system based tablet in the Indian market. Called as the Zync Z930, the 7 inch display based tablet has been affordably priced at Rs 5,499 and comes preinstalled with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

But that’s not all as the company is also promising that the tablet can be upgraded to the Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean platform. Zync has also promised to release the upgrade for the device soon.

BSNL Lofty TZ 100, Lofty TZ 200 and Lofty TZ 300

Public sector company, BSNL has announced three new tablets in the range of Rs 3,999-Rs 10,990. Manufactured by Terracom, a little known company based in India, the tablets come with Android ICS and are being launched by BSNL with data benefits. As per BSNL, buyers of the tablets can avail 2 GB of free data for 60 days, by either opting for its 2G or 3G connection.

Lofty TZ 100 is priced at Rs 10,990, this is the most expensive one among the three. It has a 7 inch capacitive screen with 1024×600 resolution. It has 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor, Android ICS operating system, 3 megapixel rear camera, 0.3 megapixel front camera for voice chats, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, 32 GB of expandable storage slot, and a 4200 mAh battery that is expected to give it decent running time.

Besides, the tablet has GPS, Bluetooth, WIFi, and WiFi hotspot capability. It has also HDMI and USB ports.

Lofty TZ 200 is priced at Rs 6,499 and comes with a 7 inch capacitive screen but with only 800×480 resolution. It too has a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor, Android ICS operating system, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage which though is expandable to up to 32 GB and 0.3 megapixel front camera for video chats. However, there is no rear camera in the Lofty TZ 200.

It has a smaller battery than the TZ 100 but its 3000 mAh battery is expected to provide decent back up. The Lofty TZ 200 also has WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI ports for connectivity. Voice calling feature is not there but users can access internet by using dongles through its USB port.

Lofty TZ 300 is the cheapest of the three and is priced at Rs 3,999. Like the TZ 200, it too does not have voice calling feature but can access internet via a dongle through its USB port.

Like the other two it too has a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor and runs on Android ICS operating system. Besides, it has 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage which though is expandable to up to 32 GB, 3000 mAh battery, and a 0.3 megapixel front camera for video calls. Like in Lofty TZ 200, it too does not have a rear camera.

Unlike the other two, it has a 7 inch resistive screen. It has a 3000 mAh battery, WiFi, and a USB port for connectivity. It neither has an HDMI port nor Bluetooth like the other two.
