Last week we reported about the 10-inch HTC Puccini tablet hitting the FCC Labs and anticipated its public appearance soon. A website, BGR, has grabbed a couple of images of the HTC Puccini tablet that shows a supposedly 8-megapixel camera. With press images leaked already, we can now hope for the launch of this 10-inch tablet in coming few weeks.
The Puccini is expected to come with HTC’s Scribe technology bearing special digital pen. The HTC Scribe technology allows users to draw, write and scribble on the tablet display using the special digital pen with pressure sensitive tip. HTC is counting heavily on its Scribe technology that is here to supersede the old navigation stick — Stylus.
Just like the HTC Flyer, the new Puccini tablet might come with a 10-inch display supporting 1280×800 pixel resolution. Under the screen, the tablet will house a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260/MSM8660 coupled with Adreno 220 graphics chip.
If that is the graphics configuration, then the tablet is capable of 1080p HD video recording and playback. However, certain premature reports state that the tablet will come with single core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Processor coupled with Adreno 205 graphics chip.
HTC Puccini tablet will run Android 3.1 Honeycomb update by default but there is no confirmation on whether it will have the updated HTC Sense interface or will provide native Honeycomb experience.
The back panel 8 Megapixel camera should be capable enough to record video in full HD 1080p resolution. Also, the VGA camera in the front panel makes it capable of video chat. No further details about the tablet’s specifications are available at this moment besides that it will carry 4G LTE radio.
Hopefully HTC will also launch its Play Store, which is an exclusive video games store, for the HTC devices along with the Blockbuster on Demand movie rental service. We also anticipate this tablet to stay exclusive for the USA region initially.
