IFA 2017: Alcatel Idol 5S, Idol 5 A7 XL and A7 announced

The A7 XL and A7 will be available in Europe, Latam, Middle East and Africa in Q3 and Q4 of 2017 respectively, while the Idol 5s and Idol 5 will be available in Europe in Q4 of 2017.

Alcatel has announced four smartphones including A7 XL, A7, Idol 5S and Idol 5 during the IFA 2017 event, which is held in Berlin. The A7 XL and A7 will be available in Europe, Latam, Middle East and Africa in Q3 and Q4 of 2017 respectively, while the Idol 5s and Idol 5 will be available in Europe in Q4 of 2017.

As for the pricing is concerned, the Alcatel A7 XL and A7 are priced at EUR 279.99 (approx. Rs 21,352) and EUR 229.99 (approx. Rs 17,539) respectively, while the Idol 5S and Idol 5 will come with a price tag of EUR 399.99 (approx. Rs 30,504) and EUR 239.99 (approx. Rs 18,302) respectively.

Alcatel Idol 5S and Idol 5

Coming to the Idol 5s and Idol 5, both the devices come equipped with Now Key that can be preset to launch specific apps, tasks or actions. The Idol 5s features a hard key, while the Idol 5 has a dedicated floating Now Key.

Starting with Idol 5S, the smartphone features a 5.2-inch Full display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a of 423ppi. It has front-facing dual speakers that integrate into the metal-and-glass body. The smartphone comes with a spatial audio solution and 2×3.6W speakers. There is an intelligent sound system then automatically adapts the audio and keeps learning from the user’s listening habits to efficiently deliver music tuned to their ears.

On the hardware front, the device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P20 along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via micro SD card slot. On the camera front, it features a 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.25-micron pixel size, f/2.0 and hybrid auto focus (PDAF + CAF). For the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with 1.4-micron pixel size and front flash. The handset is backed by a 2850mAh battery and it runs on Nougat.

The Idol 5 sports a similar screen as seen in the Idol 5S and comes loaded with the same 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.25-micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture and hybrid auto focus (PDAF + CAF). For the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.

On the hardware front, it features a quad-core MediaTek MT6753 processor along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is expandable. It features a 2800mAh battery and runs on Android Nougat.

Alcatel A7 XL and A7

Starting with the A7 XL, the smartphone features a dual-camera setup with a combination of 12-megapixel and a 2-megapixel of full frame sensors. The dual rear cameras can be used to alter the focus and background of the image. For the front, there is a 5-megapixel with soft flash.

The smartphone features a 6-inch Full HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels along with a 2.5D arc glass. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via micro SD card slot.

Alcatel A7 and A7 XL

Coming to the A7, it features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with and it is powered by a MediaTek MT6750T processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot. The device has two front-facing speakers on the top and at the bottom edges of the panel.

On the camera front, it features a 16-megapixel rear camera with aperture f/2.0 and phase detection autofocus, while for the front, there is an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling.

Both the device features a 4000mAh battery with 9V1.67A support, which the company claims can charge A7 XL up to 50 percent in 40 minutes and A7 up to 37 percent in 30 minutes. On the connectivity front, both of them features LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, and port.
