Following the footsteps of Vodafone and Airtel, Idea has now slashed its 2G data charges by 90 percent. Though in percentage terms, the rate cut looks bigger but the tariff offered by Idea now is actually on par with Vodafone, i.e. 2 paisa per 10 KB.
Idea’s new data tariff will be applicable starting July 1st, 2013 and the offer will be valid for 90 days. The revised tariff can be availed on 2G data and that too on pay-as-you-go basis.
Idea users, both prepaid and postpaid, in eight circles – Tamil Nadu and Chennai, Karnataka, Kolkata, West Bengal, Assam, North East, Bihar, and Orissa – will benefit from the revised data tariff.
Idea prepaid users can avail the new rate with a nominal value recharge priced between Rs 5-10, and will be applicable for a period of 90 days from the date of activation.
Vodafone earlier this week announced the reduction in 2G data rate by 80 percent while Airtel reduced 2G tariff by 90 percent taking the rate to 1 paisa per 10 KB.
