iBall launches Edu-Slide i-1017 tablet for students

Priced at Rs 12,999, the 10.1 inch tablet comes with 1.5 GHz dual core processor, runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and come preloaded with educational content.

Indian mobile and tablet brand, iBall has launched a new 10 inch display based tablet for students. Called the iBall Edu-Slide i-1017, it has a 10.1-inch screen that comes with a of 1280X800 and is priced at Rs 12,999.

The iBall Edu Slide i-1017 comes packed with a dual-core Cortex A9 clocked at 1.5 GHz along with G400 Mali graphic processor and 1 RAM. It runs on 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system. There is 8 GB of internal storage in the tablet, which can be expanded to 32 GB via micro card.

There is a 2-megapixel rear cameras and a front camera. The iBall Edu Slide comes pre-loaded with educational software content by eTeach. It comprises of education material from Standard I to XII for both CBSE and SSC (Maharashtra) in English medium. The tablet also offers Marathi medium content of SSC students from standards V to X.

However, the consumer can buy only one standard course material for free. As an introductory offer, consumers buying the tablet before 15th April will be able to download an additional standard content.

Sandeep Parasrampuria, director of iBall said, “We’re entering with a motive to complement our education system, not replace it. There is a dearth of quality content in this sector and with increasing number of tablet users, now’s a great time to present iBall Edu-Slide powered by eTeach. Our goal is to make optimum utilisation of the technology enhancements and create an environment where education is made easy and interesting.”

In terms of a 10.1 inch tablet with dual core processor, the tablet is slightly expensive given Micromax Fun Book Pro comes for Rs 10,000 only. However for students who need the content that is being offered with this tablet, its a good bargain.
