South Korea-based motorcycle manufacturer, Hyosung has announced to upgrade its two bikes with the ABS technology for the Indian market. One is the company’s entry-level sports bike, the GT250R, while another is the cruiser segment, Aquila Pro 650.
For those who don’t know, ABS stands for Anti-Lock Braking System, which allows the wheels to maintain tractive contact with the road surface according to driver inputs while braking, preventing the wheels from locking up (ceasing rotation) and avoiding uncontrolled skidding.
While the Hyosung has not disclosed the prices of the machines, but the dealers have started the booking with the token amount of Rs 25,000. Currently, the Hyosung GT250R is available at a price tag of Rs 3.45 lakh (ex-showroom), however, the Aquila Pro is selling for Rs 5.63 lakh (ex-showroom).

As far as specifications are concerned, the Hyosung GT250R is powered by a 249cc, oil-cooled engine, which generates the power of 28 bhp and 22 nm peak torque. On the other hand, the Aquila Pro runs on a 647cc engine that is capable of producing 74 bhp with the maximum torque of 62 Nm.
It is worth noting thatit is mandatory for motorcycle companies inIndia to install an ABS for bikes/scooters having an engine displacement of 125cc and above, starting from April 2018 for new ones and April 2019 for the existing ones.
