Huawei has today announced two new smartphones under its new Nova series in China. The new handsets are named as Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus. Both of them are the successors of last year’s Huawei Nova and Nova Plus which were unveiled at IFA last year.
The Huawei Nova 2 is priced at 2,499 Yuan (approximately Rs 23,510) whereas the Huawei Nova 2 Plus will cost 2,899 Yuan (approximately Rs 27,275). Both will be available for pre-order starting from today and will be available for sale in China from 16 June. Colour options available for the Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus are Aurora Blue, Grass Green, Gold, Obsidian Black and Rose Gold.
The Huawei Nova 2 comes with a 5-inch full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display and a 2.36GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor (4 xA53 at 2.36GHz + 4 x A53 at 1.7GHz) with MaliT830-MP2 GPU. The processor is clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It has an expandable memory of 128GB via micro SD card slot and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with EMUI 5.1. The phone has a 2,950 mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor.
On the camera front, Huawei Nova 2 sports a dual real camera setup of 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel with LED flash, PFAF, 1.25μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture. On the front, there is a 20-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. The hybrid dual sim smartphone supports 4G network and comes will all connectivity features like GPS, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type C. The Huawei Nova measures 142.2 x 68.9 x 6.9mm and weighs 143 grams.
On the other hand, Huawei Nova 2 Plus comes with bigger 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D glass display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a 2.35GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor (4 xA53 at 2.36GHz + 4 x A53 at 1.7GHz) with MaliT830-MP2 GPU. The smartphone has 4GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, with an option to expand 128GB further via microSD card. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with EMUI 5.1 and is backed up by a 3,340mAh battery.
The Huawei Nova 2 Plus also has a dual rear camera setup of 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel with LED flash, PFAF, 1.25-micron pixel size, f/1.9 aperture. Like Nova 2, this also has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. This 4G smartphone also houses a fingerprint scanner and comes will connectivity functions like 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/GLONASS, a USB Type C and Bluetooth 4.2. The Huawei Nova Plus measures 153.9 x 74.9 x 6.9mm and weighs 169 grams.
