Huawei Mate 9 has already missed some of the previous launch dates. The phone was earlier tipped to launch at IFA 2016 in Berlin but the company introduced two new smartphones with the name Nova and Nova Plus.
Now as per reports, Huawei might launch the Mate 9 on November 8th. Moreover, the device will come in four variants. The regular variant will come with 4GB RAM and in two internal storage choices of 64GB and 128GB. The 64GB variant will be priced at 3,399 Yuan and 128GB variant will be priced at 3,899 Yuan. The higher end variant with 6GB RAM and 256GB internal storage is expected to be priced at 4,699 Yuan. Lastly, the remaining variant will feature 6GB RAM and will sell with Huawei Watch at 7388 Yuan.
One should note that the above mentioned specification variants and price have not been confirmed by the company and is entirely based on rumours.
Huawei’s Mate 9 could be the first device to be powered by HiSilicon’s Kirin 960 SoC. The Kirin 960 Chipset is said to consist of four Cortex-A73 cores and four low-power Cortex-A53 cores and it will be clocked at 2.6 GHz. The chip is also expected to be manufactured using the 16nm process and there is ARM Mali T880 GPU for graphics. Other specifications include a large 5.9inch full HD screen. Mate 9 might as well come with dual camera set up with a resolution of 12 megapixel at the back with OIS and 8 megapixel front camera. It is expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat and have all the necessary connectivity options such as Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and WiFi etc. There is no information about expandable storage.
