In February, Huawei had announced its first foldable 5G smartphone at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, named as Mate X. Now the same smartphone has been found listed on the official Huawei mall in China (VMALL.com). As of now, there is no mention of its release date and pricing on the website. However, while announcing the phone at MWC, Huawei said that the phone will start at a hefty price point of EUR 2,299 (approx. Rs 1,79,455) and would be hitting the markets in the middle of 2019.
This 5G enabled smartphone will have a unique 3-way foldable design. When the phone is wide open, it doubles up as a tablet with an 8-inch OLED screen having a Resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. When its folded, the smartphone has a 6.38-inch display at the back and a 6.6-inch display on the front with a resolution of 2480 x 892 pixels and 2480 x 1148 pixels respectively.
It will come equipped with a 7nm 5G chip called Balong 5000 coupled with 1.8GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor. The Mate X will have 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card slot. On the camera front, the phone would have Leica powered two-in-one front and rear camera setup having three Sensors with primary being a 40-megapixel Wide-Angle lens, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
This foldable smartphone will get its juices from two batteries that will jointly offer 4,500mAh of power. It will have 55W Huawei SuperCharge technology that can charge the phone by 85 percent in only 30 minutes and the company also claims that its charger can be used to charge laptop as well. The Mate X will also have a smart case and said to come in Interstellar Blue colour option.
