As promised, Huawei has announced a new smartphone, called Maimang 5, in China. The Huawei Maimang 5 comes in two variants – one with 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage at CNY 2,399 (approximately Rs 24,063) while another has 4GB RAM with 64 GB inbuilt memory at CNY 2599 (approximately Rs 26,073). It will be available in China from July 21.
Huawei Maimang 5 is the successor to Maimang 4, which was released in July last year, as Huawei G8 in some markets. Huawei Maimang 5 is expected to be launched as Huawei G9 in the foreign markets. While the 3GB RAM variant will be available in Champagne Gold and Moonlight Silver colors, the 4GB RAM variant comes in Champagne Gold and Rose Gold colors.
The Huawei Maimang 5 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. It is powered by a 2 GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and has a micro SD card of 128GB capacity. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and has the EMUI 4.1 on top of it. There is a 3340 mAh battery in this phone. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds.
The Huawei Maimang 5 comes with a 16-megapixel rear camera with an dual tone LED flash light, phase detection auto-focus, OIS, Sony IMX298, and f/2.0 aperture. An 8-megapixel selfie camera is in its front. Besides, the smartphone offers Hybrid Dual SIM, 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB Type C. The handset measures 151.8 x 75.7 x 7.3 mm and weighs around 160 grams.
