Huawei has today launched MatePad T8 in India exclusively on Flipkart. The tablet will be available in LTE and WiFi version at prices starting Rs 9,999. The Huawei MatePad T8 comes in Deepsea Blue colour.
During the pre-order phase, from September 8-14, 2020, the LTE version is also available at a discounted price of Rs 9999. Post the pre-order period, from September 15, 2020, the devices will be available at attractive prices of Rs 9999 and Rs 10,999 for the WiFi and the LTE version respectively.
Huawei MatePad T8 features a 8-inch HD+ LCD display with 1200 x 800 pixel resolution and 80% screen-to-body ratio. The tablet is powered by Octa-Core MediaTek MT8768 with IMG GE8320 650 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. It also has support for storage expansion via a microSD card slot for up to an additional 512GB.
The MatePad T8 has a 5-megapixel Autofocus rear camera with f/2.2 Aperture and a 2-megapixel for the front f/2.4 aperture. The tablet has a 5100 mAh battery with 5W charging support. The 5100 mAh will give a user 588 hours with the screen off, delivering 3.5 weeks of battery life. When switched on, the tablet will give users 12 hours of local video playback, and webpage browsing. It also gives a whopping 75 hours of audio playback.
The tablet runs on EMUI 10.0.1 based on Android 10 but it comes with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) instead of Google Play Services.
The tablet has connectivity features like LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack. The tablet measures 199.7 x 121.1 x 8.55 mm and weighs 310 grams.
Huawei MatePad T8 also comes with a Dark Mode, making it easy to read texts easily and it is easily compatible with most third-party apps. Its facial unlock feature is uniquely accessible by ‘raising your wrist’ with fast identification capabilities which open the device immediately and one can go back to working as soon as the tablet is lifted.
The tablet comes with four pre-installed apps – a recorder, camera, multimedia, and Kids Painting. Making it a kid-friendly device, also the parental controls are beneficial to controlling children accessing the tablet such as setting alerts to improve your kid’s posture with the posture alert feature and it also controls ‘how much time your kid spends using the tablet’ with the time management alert among others.
