As reported earlier, Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor has announced the launch of its much awaited Honor 8 smartphone in China. The smartphone comes in three variants- one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs 20,072), another with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal memory at CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs 23,090), while the last one has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, and will cost CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs 25,093). The Honor 8 smartphone will be made available to customers from July 19 onwards. The smartphone comes in five different colors- Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black, Sakura Pink and Sapphire Blue.
The Honor 8 comes with a 5.2-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display. The 2.3GHz octa-core Kirin 950 processor, powers this phone and has the backing of Mali T880-MP4 GPU and 3GB/4GB RAM. Besides, 32GB/64GB of internal storage, the Honor 8 comes with an optional storage for up to a 128GB micro SD card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system wrapped under EMUI 4.1 and gets its strength from a 3000 mAh battery with fast charging support.
As expected, the Honor 8 has a dual rear camera set up – both the cameras are of 12 megapixel resolution. A dual-tone LED flash light is in the back too. The primary rear camera has f/2.2 Aperture and Laser AF. In the front, an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.4 aperture has been provided for selfies.
Like all new age devices, the Honor 8 also comes with a fingerprint scanner which is located on its back panel. It has USB Type-C port and an Infrared sensor as well. Besides, the smartphone has a Hybrid Dual SIM tray, 4G LTE, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and NFC. The handset measures 145.5 x 71 x 7.45 mm and weighs 153 grams.
