Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is all set to roll out a stable Android 7.0 Nougat update for its budget smartphone, 5c, in India by April 2017. The company confirmed that the Nougat update for Honor 5c is in pipeline.
In a conversation with a Twitter user named Vinod Saini, the company tweeted: “further the stable version of Nougat update for Honor 5c is expected in the month of April 2017.” The new update will bring a host of new features to the smartphone along with EMUI 5.0. The new version brings the much-needed App drawer and Huawei claims that EMUI 5.0 learns on its own.
Meanwhile, Android Nougat will get new features such as split-screen multiwindow, enhanced notification panel, doze on the go for battery, screen dpi customisations, improved recent menu etc.
To recall, the Honor 5C features a 5.2-inch full HD (1920 x 1080p) display, Kirin 650 chipset, 2GB of RAM. and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 on top of it and is backed up by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery.
For the photography, the smartphone has a 13-megapixel primary camera at the back with Dual tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera with 77 degrees wide-angle lens is on its front panel. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers Dual SIM (Dual standby),4G LTE with voLTE support, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor 2.0 on the back panel and houses dual stereo speakers at the bottom on the phone. The handset measures 147.1 x73.8 x 8.3 mm and weighs 156 grams.
