Huawei announced the Huawei GX in September last year at IFA. Now at CES 2016 event, Huawei has relaunched the phone as GX8 for the US market, at $350 or Rs 23,350 approximately. It will be available in the US in the first quarter of this year and will go on sale via the company’s website, Amazon US, and other retailers like Best Buy stores.
The Huawei GX8 has a 5.5 inch full HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and comes with Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system on top of which lies Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1 (EMUI). The smartphone is armed with the octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (Cortex A53 – 4×1.5GHz + 4×1.2GHz) Processor which is clubbed with Adreno 405 GPU. Huawei GX8 features fingerprint sensor at the back below the rear camera.
For storage, the Huawei GX8 offers 16GB of built-in storage with 2 GB RAM and 128GB expandable micro SD card slot. This handset comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5 megapixel front camera. For connectivity, the smartphone offers 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, and a Micro USB port.
Moreover, there is a 3000 mAh battery in the Huawei GX8 which measures 152 x 76.5 x 7.5 mm and weighs 167 grams.The phone has Accelerometer, Proximity, Ambient Light, and Compass sensors.
The Huawei GX8 comes in Gray, Gold and silver color options.
