Huawei G9 with 3GB RAM, Kirin 650 SoC set to release on May 4: Report

Huawei G9 is expected to have two variants, one will be priced around 1688 yuan (approximately Rs 17,451) and another variant will cost around 1988 yuan (approximately Rs 20,552).

Huawei is all set to unveil its latest smartphone in China, which is dubbed as Huawei G9. A teaser has been spotted, mentioning the launch date of the upcoming smartphone. According to the teaser, the smartphone will be unveiled on May 4.

It is said to be the toned down version of recently released Huawei P9 smartphone. Recently, Huawei G9, had been spotted on the website of TENAA – the Chinese certification agency, revealing few specification along with some images.

As per listing, Huawei G9 features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080p) display. It is powered by the 2GHz octa-core Kirin 650 processor, which is paired with 3GB of RAM. It runs on 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with EMUI on top of it and is backed up by a 2900mAh battery. The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel shooter at the back with flash and an 8-megapixel snapper at the front panel. The phone also houses a fingerprint scanner at the back. Further, the smartphone is said to measure 7.5mm thick and weighs 143 grams. The G9 come in black, gold, and white color options.

Last week, Huawei had launched an affordable Honor 5C. It has a metal unibody design and features a 5.2-inch full HD (1920 x 1080p) display. It is powered by a Kirin 650 64-bit octa-core processor, which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, and expandable storage up-to 128GB via Micro card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 on top of it and is backed up by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery.

The Honor 5C has a 13-megapixel shooter on the back with Dual tone LED flash and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers Dual (Dual standby),4G with voLTE support, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), 4.1, GPS with and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor 2.0 on the back panel and houses dual stereo speakers at the bottom on the phone. The handset measures 147.1×73.8×8.3 mm, and weighs 156 grams.
